random1289's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mardi Gras! Happy Mardi Gras everybody! I actually woke up this morning and completely forgot that it was Mardi Gras! =0 I remember last year there was a girl in French I (I was in French II.) who chose Mardi Gras as her French name. I thought this was kind of weird because Mardi Gras literally means Fat Tuesday in French. And who would really like to be called Fat Tuesday? "Hey Fat Tuesday! Grab me a book will ya?" Yeah, that doesn't sound very great does it? Also, when I think of Mardi Gras, I usually think of New Orleans and everybody flashing eachother. Not exactly something I'd like to associate myself with. But, she was a bit of a huzzy anyway, so maybe that's why she picked it.... I don't know. Anyway, Ash Wednesday is tomorrow, which means I have to give something up. I think I'm going to give up cussing. I've been getting pretty bad about it. I mean, I don't say the f word or anything, but as my Grandma would say, my language is not "lady-like". So I think I'm going to try to fix that.
